Milox Display Case protects Queen Kristina’s grave textiles
A unique collection of textile fragments from Queen Kristina's marble sarcophagus beneath St. Peter's Basilica in Rome is currently on display at the Royal Armoury in Stockholm. Milox was commissioned to protect the textiles. The display case is filled with nitrogen gas, as oxygen has a destructive effect on fabrics. The nitrogen is humidified to the correct level in order to counteract its desiccant properties. The system is easy for the museum staff to monitor and control.
